Leroy Anderson became Director of the Harvard University Band in 1929, the year he graduated with a B.A. Leroy Anderson led the CHLS orchestra in performing Sandpaper Ballet, Blue Tango, works by Mozart, Bernstein, Haydn, Rossini, Tchaikovsky, Vivaldi and Bordodin. 2 In 1973 CHLS asked him to conduct the school orchestra in a concert that was recorded.
